
Legal Secretary II – Child Support Services #500985
The Arizona Attorney General’s Office ( AGO ), Child and Family Protection Division/Child Support Services Section ( CSS ) is seeking a Legal Secretary Il. At the AGO, you will join an agency-wide team comprised of veteran attorneys, retired judiciary members, and new lawyers.
In CSS, you will work in a regional unit with the benefit of a statewide team, as you assist attorneys in preparation for the representation of Arizona s Title IV-D Child Support Agency to help secure financial support for children. The Title IV-D child support program functions both to reimburse public funds and to help increase parental involvement with their children, by way of financial support.
Job Duties:
- Preparation of legal pleadings and documents necessary to process cases on behalf of the client; drafting and typing correspondence
- Answering inquiries from the client, court personnel, and others regarding case activity and status
- Coordinating and following up on service of process including communicating with the process servers and locate unit
- Entering all calendar events, deadlines, and case activities in case management database (ATLAS) to track progression of activities, reflect case status and generate follow through action
- Independently generate legal forms needed in all types of actions and other projects as assigned
- This position will work with cases filed in various tribunals such as bankruptcy court, superior court, and administrative courts.
- This position may be required to assist with training new staff.
- Duties involve reviewing, creating, and processing materials and information that are confidential by federal and state laws.
